Claire Denton, a 20-year-old sophomore at The University of Oregon, has been painting, drawing and creating art her entire life. Denton has stated that it started as a hobby, and she didn’t know she wanted to pursue art further. The older Denton got, the larger the paintings got. At the time, there was a proportional increase in her dream of becoming an art professor someday. Now, she is furthering her passion as an Art Major in the School of Design at UO and is applying for a Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA). Her versatility and willingness to try new art methods, such as using various mediums, performing pieces, and even welding, shows her drive and creative ambitions.

Artists see things differently. I see objects made up of the shapes and characteristics [tangible and intangible] that create the object, rather than the object itself.
